Our Beginning

Harrington Family Health Center was founded in 1976 by by Dr. Donald and Mary Robertson. Dr. Robertson recognized a need for a health center to attract other doctors, as there was a shortage in the Downeast Area.

Dr. Robertson practiced medicine with Philip Michie, PA, his wife, Mary Robertson, RN, Gladys Dorr, RN. Starr Yeaton was the Office Manager. More providers came in and out of the health center as it grew over the years.

Originally located across from Bigelow Field in the heart of Harrington, the HFHC moved to its current location in 1987. The Route One location enabled HFHC to respond to growing practice. The expansions have included adding dental and mental health services to the burgeoning practice.
